We normally head to the bigger Los Pericos in Pelton center, but since this one is two blocks closer to our house, we decided to check this one out. I'd say everything is the same, except smaller. The menu is smaller, the restaurant is smaller. Portions are the same though, and that's good :) I got a small shredded chicken quesadilla, which came on two normal-sized, fresh-made flour tortillas. The chicken was very flavorful. Very good quesadilla. My boyfriend got the chile relleno plate, which was humongous. Had two chile rellenos, rice, beans, etc. His also came with a side of corn tortillas. He loves the chile rellenos here. The horchata was nice and cinnamon-y. We'll definitely be back, but I like the bigger menu and the bigger location down the street.

I usually frequent the ones in Hayward, so this was my first time at this location. Ordered: Carnitas Taco- Dry. Not much flavor and not crispy either. Just dry...I had to douse the taco in salsa. Al Pastor Taco- Super flavorful. Pork was tender with just the right amount of flavor and sauce. I could have eaten a whole plate of this! Keep in mind, the AWESOME thing about these tacos is that it is PACKED with MEAT. With my two tacos, I made four tacos with the extra tortilla (each taco comes with two tortillas). Not too shabby for $5.44. I will definitely be back to try the other meats. Keep in mind there's no carne asada at this location.

Lengua burrito was sooooo good! It filled me up twice as did my kids with their been and cheese burritos. My husband thought he was being conservative getting just 2 tacos but was stuffed when he finished. The fresh chips were complimented by the salsa bar filled with several varieties of salsa and sides to perk up your dish! We will be back for sure!

On Saturday, 9/6/14, my girlfriend picked me up a carnitas super burrito to go from Los Pericos #5. I usually eat at the Los Pericos located in the Pelton Center. This was my first time trying the #5 location. The carnitas burrito was really good. The carnitas tasted fresh and had a good flavor. The pork wasn't greasy at all. The rice, refried beans, cheese and sour cream tasted really good along with the carnitas. The flour tortilla tasted good too. The size of the burrito was pretty big. I'm skeptical about ordering food to go at restaurants because there is usually something wrong with my order and I won't notice until I get home so by then I just have to deal with it and eat it. Los Pericos #5 got my order right and the burrito hit the spot. Los Pericos has good Mexican food. If you're ever in the area and are craving fresh tasty Mexican food give Los Pericos #5 a try.

My go to for Mexican food. Super quesadilla and wet burritos, so delicious! Staff is friendly and quick to help you, prices are good and they have a lot of options! Always really dirty inside, but they have a constant flow of customers at all times, so I understand. Just wipe your table and dig in!

I used to live in industrial San Leandro and I had my go-to taco places, like Taqueria El Gordo, and since moving into Downtown San Leandro I needed to find my new go-to place. Luckily, my boyfriend found it first! I had been here in high school for a quick bite with friends but I seemed to have forgotten about it after moving back to San Leandro. This place is basically walking distance from our new apartment!! You have you normal menu up above the registrar and you can't go wrong with tacos! I ordered a Super Burrito, spicy with everything, for the boyfriend and then ordered a Vegetarian Burrito for myself, I didn't want anything too big, and a couple steak tacos. They have a salsa bar that you can help yourself too while you wait for your food. I am a fan of the avocado salsa and pico de gallo. There is even pickled onion, peppers, lime wedges to doctor up your food! The wait wasn't very long and we even got some chips with our order. The Burritos didn't disappoint and the tacos were mounded with meat! Totally worth every penny spent here! Clearly this is my new Mexican food spot!! The place looked clean and there is seating inside and outside! The outside is nice because they in the courtyard area and it's pretty quiet and would be cool on a nice day! I suggest trying their tacos, any meat, because of the value and quality of the food. You can add extra salsa from the salsa bar!

First time here and was not disappointed. I had their taco salad and it was amazing! Their rice is very flavorful and the carnitas were nice and juicy. Was so happy after I left, I will be going back soon!

Love this place! Place is rather huge so I never have to scope around for seating. Has a salsa bar with a lot to choose from. Tacos are pretty big and with a really good amount of meat, not at all greasy like you may have experienced at a taco truck but I don't mind it as long as it is delicious and it is. Line rarely gets too long because service is really quick. Food comes out rather quickly so by the time you finish the chips they have that is easily accessible, they will have already brought you your food. Fountain drinks comes with free refill. Place is really clean and the staff is super nice. Whenever I am in the part of the town and am craving for Mexican food, this place immediately comes to mind.

I've been coming here for years ever since this place was Pedro's and the menu has always been the same. you can order off the menu items such as a fajita burrito or taco's. the salsa bar is great with lots of choices and at this location you can get a chimichanga. the Agua Fresca's are always tasty, and the service is fast and friendly. this location is much smaller than the one located just down the street but all three locations which are relatively close by to each other all offer up the same quality of food and service. As for those who are complaining about the price it's relatively the same as all the other taqueria locations in the area and the food portions are rather large so you actually get what you pay for.

Good Mexican place! Everybody Who works here is really nice. The food was good and the place was busy. It could have been a bit more clean but that's my only complaint. I'll be back

2/5/15 - I was thinking about this place and wondering if they make good enchiladas. To my surprise they do and the beans and rice were on point to. I ordered three combo meals for me and my two cousins. Our family started this year out with a big death and we need comfort right now. Thank you Los Pericos for an enjoyable meal. The only thing I did not like was the $1.75 take-out charge for each meal.

The only thing I hate about this place is the parking, other then that it is perfect. Great Mexican food and atmosphere. Aguas fresca, and chips with fresh salsa. Try the torta and grave a ceviche tostada

After searching all over the Bay area for great Mexican food, this place fits the bill! Super carne asada burrito was delicious and I was super hungry, so this was super filling! I had to eat the stuffing out with a fork! recommend highly!

This is the OTHER Los Pericos in the area (not the one in the Pelton Center). I personally enjoy the food from the Pelton Center location more. This location's food seems more greasy to me than what you would normally receive, but maybe I'm looking too much into it.

Menu price through yelp not the same as price in restaurant. 8.25 for jumbo. Other burritos 7.25 not 5.00 range. Need to update menu online.

I'll give you the highlights: this taqueria has vegetarian options (quesadilla, burrito, and some breakfast items), a delicious condiments bar (guacamole, salsas, and pickled potato, need I say more), and those thick yummy chips you always hope for and dream of. They serve breakfast all day. Self serve horchata is good too. I think this is my new spot for veg mex food.

I cannot say enough good things about Los Pericos; they have a long-established reputation in the Bay Area at pretty much all of their locations, and it's for very good reason! I appreciate a taqueria that stays true to it's roots, traditional artwork and all. Anything that looks too fancy inside simply cannot be trusted to produce true, authentic, delicious Mexican food. Another part of this is delivering delicious, quality food without having to take out a loan just to add some guacamole to your burrito (ahem, Chipotle). The prices are more than fair, you will walk out satisfied for $10 or less! I'd especially like to review their Pastor. Their heavenly, delicious, juicy pastor. Anyone who appreciates Pastor know that it's more than just a style of meat, it's a way of life. I am constantly searching for the "perfect pastor" and Los Pericos pretty much has it nailed. It is the perfect amount of spicy and tangy, the only thing I would change is the consistency: slices rather than shredded (but that is totally a personal preference!). I am drooling just typing this review as the thoughts of their pastor consume my brain. OH, and good luck finishing their burritos as they are massive, which is a plus! They make a great hangover breakfast the next day. You're welcome.

  • Hayley A.

This place is way expensive for a taqueria! a tiny little street taco should not cost almost three dollars when all you get on it is cilantro and onions, that's insane! A super burrito and large soda cost my friend $10. The meat had a little too much fat and not enough flavor in order for me to actually say I enjoyed the food. Apparently the burrito was good, but my taco was not. The rice is good and that's about it. Think I'll go down the street to casa Maria where I know it's good and authentic, oh and not way over priced.

This place is great. Wish it were closer to Oakland. Everything I've had has been good to great. You also get a good amount of food for the money. Tacos are not cheap ($2.50), but they're large. The green salsa is addicting. Plus, the rice and beans are vegetarian, which is great if you're someone who wants to enjoy a full Mexican meal.

My favorite restaurant in San Leandro. Hands down. I have been a customer at this place for about 8 years now. The chips are freshly cooked not like other places who use bagged chips. It's also open bar so you can get all the extra add on ingredients yourself.. I have tried almost every item this place has.. Everything is good. The super nachos portions can be a little bigger if I had to make any criticism. Other than that I will continue to eat here whenever I'm in San Leandro

Hands down my favorite place in the bay to get delicious Mexican food. Their chips and salsa are great (and free, like they should be at any self-respecting Mexican restaurant). I crave their burritos when I'm away at school, I think it's something about their tortillas that make them so delicious. The quesadillas are good too, and are basically just grilled burritos. My brother swears by the taco salad with al pastor, and my sister always gets a wet burrito with chicken/shrimp or their fish tacos, which are grilled not fried. The service is awesome too, the people that work there are always so nice. They get the food out to you fast, and I've never been disappointed with my meal.

I'm from East Los Angeles, where there is a taco stand/truck or taqueria in every corner. I was visiting Oakland for work and was really craving some tacos. I drove to Los Pericos and got two tacos, asada and al pastor. Each were 2.49, I think, and I thought that was a bit much, but as soon as I saw my tacos, I was thrilled. They were on regular sized tortillas and FULL of meat. The chiles and salsas were all really good, too. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in town. The tacos were delicious.

So this little place was awesome sauce, stopped by here before flying out from Oakland. A little far from the airport but worth the drive. Very friendly staff, food quickly came out. Great Pastor tacos, I got 2, 3 would have been too much, they are big, not street tacos. They did really pack them. The Horchata was legit! S must stop Yelpers.

    (5)
  • Boyo I.

The carne asada taco 2.49 was about twice the size as a standard "street-style" taco. The two corn tortillas were notably thin. The beef was fresh and tasty. The bean, cheese, and rice burrito 4.75 was standard taqueria fare: tasty but not spectacular. Horchata was good. Friendly service, free chips, and several fresh salsa choices.

I had high hopes for this Taqueria but I was kind of let down.... We stopped in for dinner and didn't have trouble finding the place. Parking was kind of difficult though because it's located in a high traffic plaza where lots of cars are going in and out. The restaurant itself is very large so seating isn't an issue. Their menu is also incredibly extensive which was great but had us standing there staring at it for 5 minutes or so lol I ordered a carne asada super taco with rice and beans and my bf had the torta with pollo asado. Service was fast and we received free chips with our order! There is also a pretty good salsa bar, the pico de gallo was good but the pickled onions and jalapenos tasted different than usual and the green "avocado" sauce had a weird, thick consistency. I liked my carne asada super taco, there was a good serving of meat and they make it with two baby corn tortillas which was nice. The rice and beans were NOT anything special though.... I would forego these and just order more tacos because the beans had no flavor and the rice was just whatever. My bf's torta was a huge sandwich looking thing filled with chicken, but it was a lot of bread so I'm not sure if it's a good thing to order.

Carne asada super burrito was pretty legit. Not as fat as the place I frequent in Hayward, but definitely long (cue the double entendres). The salsa bar they have doesn't have as extensive of a selection as I expected, but still, it's reasonable. Probably unfair to compare it to the Hayward joint, as that has really raised the bar for me in terms of Mexican food. Place was pretty busy on a Saturday night. Seating is like a pizzeria, no reservations and pick where you want to sit. I also like getting the "super" option includes guacamole (that is sometimes an upcharge). It's in downtown San Leandro, so I'd be back if I was in the area. It's literally a two minute walk from Tapioca Express and the Safeway, which are essentially located in the same plaza. I believe you can leave your food on the table and it'll be bussed for you (at least I hope that's the case, since I left my food there...sorry to the staff if you can't!)

I really enjoyed this place back in highschool with my friend. We would always come here to get their burritos. Whatever type of meat you get, it's usually a great portion. The best thing, though, is that they give you unlimited free chips. Back in college, a similar Mexican joint did the same thing, but I always felt like this place had the best tortilla chips. They're thick and sturdy, so it helps with getting salsa, and it generally just taste awesome. Don't take my word for it! Go check it out yourself. There are two locations within walking distance of each other. One is near Baskin Robbins. The other is in front of Tapex. Reasonable prices, too.

Small place with limited seating, but parking in the rear, a salsa bar and delicious burritos? Count me in! I got to try the carne asada super burrito and was surprised by how delicious it was! It may have been the avocado and sour cream goodness, but the content ratio was definitely different compared to other places. Less rice, more of the other ingredients. The carne asada tasted like bacon as they were thinly sliced then grilled in oil. However, for $9.01, I expected a larger burrito... I also recommend the green salsa-- it's not spicy! Service was great! The cashier was very patient as were the people helping bus tables.

Definitely one of my go to restaurants when I'm in the area. I love the ceviche and the ceviche de camarones. Their tacos are really good but can be super spicy so I like to ask for the salsa on the side. The prices are just right and they take credit card. Your fish tacos are really good and they give a very generous portion of fish. They have a sidebar with all the different toppings and lime and cilantro and onions and sauces and salsas. Their burritos are normal size but their meat is really really good. Like I said one of my go to spots :-)

Came here with some friends on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was packed. Very friendly service. They even let me make half my order to go, and cooked it after I was done eating. The seating is kinda outdated, but kept very well. Food came out in 5 minutes. Sauce used on the wet burrito tasted like canned tomato sauce. Not really spicy. Inside of the burrito was perfect though. Definitely would come back, but I won't go out of my way to come here.

Ok so I wrote a pretty detailed tip about this place... I wouldn't go back. Maybe had the wrong thing? Not sure. Had wet chicken burrito. It was made with dark meat - yuck and the sauce tasted like spagettios. yes they had a super salsa bar but I didn't really like any of them, or a lot of them tasted the same, and/or nothing spectacular there. The bathroom... OMG... please try cleaning it once in a while with some sort of disinfecting spray/cleaner/pinesol somthing... Yikes. Reviews here are why I went... I'm a foodie of all foodies... Don't do it!

My go-to Mexican spot for several reasons: - it's close to my place (walking distance, but we all know I don't walk anywhere, though I probably should) - great, friendly customer service - tasty burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and nachos (their carnitas super nachos rock!) - excellent salsa bar - free chips if eating there... self-serve, just grab bowl after bowl after bowl after bowl - flat-screen usually showing soccer matches (always seems to be on Fox Deportes when I eat there) - open til 10 pm every night. Give 'em a try and see for yourself...

wasnt impressed. the got my husbands order completely wrong, my burrito was ok but thats about it. the salsa bar was again ok but not spectacular. the salsa verde could use some work. the guacamole was gross and looks like it came out of a bag. very clean establishment and good service if they get your order correct.

this place it why I could stand to move to San Leandro from Oakland. It convinced me that I actually didn't know what good mexican is like. Now I do and it is really hard for me to eat anywhere else. My roomie and I eat at least 4 meals a week here (between the 2 of us) -- it is like our own dining room. Best thing on the menu? Everything.

I was in the mood for a burrito today ,so I popped by Los Pericos 2nd location. Its located inside a Mexican Supermarket. They make a killer Burrito. I ordered up a Carne Asada one and grabbed up some salsa and grubbed out. Cheap ,Fresh and Fast . A lot better option than Taco Bell.

I love this place! I used to go to this place when it was a different mexican restaurant (Pedros, i think) and i love Los Pericos down the street so i figured i would give this location a try. I usually order steak tacos or burritos and they are sooo good! Burritos are huge! I also never order chicken in my burritos at any restaurant because for some reason i always end up with bones in my food, BUT i have never had this problem at los pericos and the chicken burrito is delicious! I havent been to the other los pericos down the street in quite a while, but im guessing its just as good. This location is more convenient for me to go to (parking, crowds etc). Their salsa bar is also awesome!

I love Los Pericos and have been going here ever since I moved to the Bay Area. This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant and whenever I have a craving, I go here! Might I add that their fish tacos are the best. Ask for a fish super burrito, and you'll have bitten into a piece of heaven. Love the salsa bar, too.

There is a lot of good Mexican spots in San Leandro, but there is one thing that keeps me coming back here. I love pictures of giant parrots, no that's not it. I try to triangulate for the best use of my time... so this place is the best in quality, price, wait time, distance to my house, and salsa bar ratio. Other places could have beat it out because Los Pericos isn't exactly close to me at all, but that Salsa Bar is an amazing touch. I'll be coming back here for sure... maybe this Thursday.

Man, remembering all the great taqueria's in San Leandro/Oakland/East Bay is making me want a carne asada taco from Los Pericos right NOW. There's not much in the way of decor (what taqueria has that, anyway?) but the salsa and frech pico are great and the tacos and burritos are SO cheap. You can eat yourself silly on the chips & salsa. And they have a decent guacamole, too. A great place for a take-out lunch. Note: the tacos here are much better than the burritos - for burritos I like El Gordo - but that's another review...

This is by far my husbands favorite restaurant! Despite the fact that he loves Mexican food, the menu is great and the actual food taste even better. We are here about twice a month and I have no regrets. I don't have to cook for the night, the food is delish and my dear husband and I ALWAYS leave satisfied. What more can a girl ask for ; ). First of all the lady was trying to rush me and her attitude when talking to me sucked. Hello, I am paying for your salary. Then I was ordering for 4 people and every time I order she would say "Thats it" in Spanish. No, I will tell you when I am done. So I took the food, luckily my wife food was good but my Shrimp Cocktail sucked. It was bland and I could only taste onions....and they gave me one lime for small bowl. I will stop by for others but not for me.

No pomp and circumstance for my 300th review...just a taqueria. It's a pretty good taqueria. They give you free chips and salsa bars are pretty much the coolest thing to ever happen to Mexican food. The burritos are solid. It's not the best one I've ever had but I'm sure it beats any burrito made in...Iowa for example. Weird factors: There's a juke box which I don't think anyone has ever put money in to, but will randomly play some super loud mexican music out of no where. There is a giant mural on the wall...of a Mexican cock fight. Yes, I know that this is the first time that I've used the word "cock" in a review, but it's appropriate this time. I then look at the chicken in my burrito and wonder how many "wins" it had before it became my burrito.

A really good tacqueria in San Leandro. I go there whenever I'm down that way. I usually order a carnitas burrito, which is delicious. They have a nice salsa bar. Took my mom here a couple of weeks ago and she raved about her chicken quesadilla. Only drawback: it's frequently cold in here. I guess they don't run the heat much.

  • Christina C.

Great carne asada burritos, hands down! I'll drive a distance for their burrito. Definitely the best I've found so far in San Leandro. The meat has so much flavor and I feel they have a good beans/meat/rice ration. Not one bite of just rice (hate that). Once I ventured out of my burrito comfort zone and got cheese enchiladas that were pretty standard. Decent salsa, loud TVs, busted up old games in the corner, but the service is very friendly and they are consistently delicious.

Taqueria #5, Los Pericos is the proper name of this place. It took me a little while to realize that this place and another Los Pericos on E 14th Street are owned by the same family. However, though I very much enjoy both taquerias, each restaurant has its own specialties that make them different. When I want juicy carnitas with a crispy skin, I come to #5. When I want a plate with good refried beans and fluffy rice, I come to #5. And, when I want something savory and satisfying for breakfast or brunch, like a chorizo and egg burrito, I come to #5. This is the place that is great for stopping by earlier in the day. The food just seems to be at its peak during the early hours. I've heard some people comment that the carnitas aren't quite as succulent in the evening. And, since I am so fond of their breakfast plates, it just makes sense to stop here, first thing in the day. I'm a fan of both Los Pericos, but each has something that makes them sparkle in slightly different ways.

  • Jessica W.

I am a huge fan of Mexican food and I patronize a large number of places in the area. However this is the one I'm least impressed by, because of the dour and sad-faced servers, as well as their carnitas. Yes, I'm judging it basically just on their carnitas...but...just not impressive! Just not as meaty or delicious, without the crispy bits that I crave on the ends. It means a lot to me because that is what I usually get, and...yeah...better to be had elsewhere. Their guacamole is just avocado puree, i hate that! Their other stuff is just fine, but...yeah...meh.

Love this place!!! The Salsa Bar is always keep clean. No matter what time of the day I ride by their they are always packed and yet timely service. Places like this will go down on their quality of food once they know they have a crowd but this place is consistent. I usually have the carna asada tacos. My "oldman" has even started going there after I told him I like them much better than La Pinata (another Mexican restaurant in San Leandro) I have never eaten in because I always want to go home, lay down in the bed, and put the true meaning into fat and lazy. The food is tasty and flavorful EXCEED'S LA PINATA any day!

I've only been here twice but it's probably the best burrito place I've ever been to. Huge servings for great prices, and their salsa bar is on point. The onions drenched in that orange sauce--whatever it is--are delicious.

This is the place. Good, local taqueria joint with so many options. The homemade unlimited free chips and salsa are a huge plus. I ordered the regular pastor burrito with sour cream and spicy. I was expecting "spicy" to be mean sauce or salsa. They dropped a couple HUGE raw jalapenos inside. Taste was amazing but I got killed. I could only finish half the regular burrito. I can't imagine what a super burrito is like. It was $5 I think which is a great deal. This was the first time in a while I could not finish a burrito and the jalapenos were killing me. I've had their catered enchiladas, rice and beans and very solid stuff. One of the better fast casual taquerias in the east bay. Pretty authentic. I think for tortas and tacos Acalpuco Taqueria off A street still rules, but for good burritos and other fare this place is good.

Dude, I grew up with two mexican Grandmas a block away from each other. I think it is the best food restraunt in this city.

I don't know why i don't frequent this joint more often. Its cheap, clean, fast, and good. And on nice days, you can eat outside and people-watch! My fave is the ginormous vege burrito. Comes loaded with beans, rice, cheeses, and guac (which not everywhere does). For $5.50, its almost enough for 2 people. And yes, the all you can eat chips are always a nice treat. The loaded and tasty salsa bar tops it all off. Always a good lunch stop, and service is friendly and accurate.

I was craving an al pastor super burrito for a while, and I thought I'd give this location a shot. I ate a long time ago at the Dublin site and was not impressed but I give 2nd chances. This burrito was SLAMMIN! JUICY! and DELISH! Yes I was starving and every bite was a tasty pork marinated delight. I'll be back when in the area and craving again.

Can't go wrong with this place. Nothing fancy just a good solid meal at a fare price.

Fantastic Taqueria! I've always said you can tell the quality of a taqueria by the variety of meats they offer and the quality of those meats; Los Pericos comes through in a big way. Try the Cabeza, Pastor or Pollo Asado on literally anything and you'll be impressed. I've also asked for a sample of their meats before ordering and they are always happy to give me a small portion before I make up my mind. Great salsa bar with traditional freshly made salsas and jalapeno carrots. I usually go for the nachos because I'm kind of a nacho fiend but I've had the burritos and was impressed. The food is great and the price is right!

You can totally miss this place if you don't know what your looking for. This is a Taqueria attached to a market so look for a market. Parking is limited but I have never had a problem getting a spot. Moving from the central valley to the tri-valley poses some major Taqueria withdrawal. By chance we found this place and all was well again in Taqueria land. I love the shredded chicken tacos and my hubby usually goes for the super burrito. You cannot beat the prices! Great for a quick lunch or dinner. Food is consistent and good.

I've been frequenting this place by virtue of mere proximity to my home although I know of taquerias that serve more authentic-tasting Mexican food. In fact, even a taco truck is better. I think the food here is watered-down, bland Mexican. But today I'm feeling compelled to remark because the cashier sneezed into her hand, then, used that same hand to grasp the neck of my bottle of Jarritos so it could be opened when the bottle was moist from the refrigerator. I hoped that this wouldn't be a problem since the actual mouth of my bottle wasn't touched, but half an hour after eating and drinking, I ended up sick with a raspy lung. It is disappointing that they do not wash their hands or use an anti-bacterial cleansing agent after sneezing. The cashier may think that she's not handling food, but in fact, some of what she handles does in fact make it into our stomach.

I've been here more than once. The super asada burrito is really great. I've tried many burritos and this Taqueria Los Pericos place makes them consistently well. I can't help mentioning there is another Taqueria Los Pericos up the street in the Pelton Center. It is always more packed than this location even though it isn't as good. The big windows at Pelton are probably there so you can laugh at the fools packed in there instead. Enjoy!

i don't like it it... it was just okay... i like the free chips though.. they are really tasty.... i also ordered a side of guacamole and chips.. and the guacamole wasn't made from real guacamole... it wasn't good... they do give you A LOT of chips though... maybe next time i'll just buy chips here and buy guacamole at safeway... super burrito was just okay... i had better... araujos in san burno is better for me... service was good though.. i asked for jalapenos in my burrito... and they added it for free and they made my order really fast. disappointed because i really wanted to like this place. plus they let you grab as much salsa as you want... oh well... maybe i'll try it again...

Ahhhhhhh one of the solid Taquerias in San Leandro that I would go to! Really friendly service with super bomb food! What I recommend here would be the super quesadilla... man it's basically a giant ricelesss and endlessssss deliciousnesssssssssss

There's another Los Pericos about a block from this location in the Pelton Center, and I have to say that both are very good. This place is smaller than the other location, but more charming because of its size. My favorite dish here is the chile relleno platter: huge portions, very well made and flavorful, and it comes with rice, beans, and tortillas. There's a salsa bar available at your convenience, and you get free chips with the purchase of your food. Staff is friendly and there's always someone around cleaning and tidying up. I work right next to this Los Pericos, so the added convenience of being able to walk next door during lunch breaks makes this place even better. Good stuff.

I am definatley a fan of this joint. First, its walking distance from the job-spot. Next, the wait is never bad. Third, they have an excellent salsa bar. Finally, the food is excellent - I'd say very authentic Mexican food, but I'm a white dude so what do I really know about that anyway? Price...$25 bucks for me + wifey...maybe just a tad high, but it doesn't stop me from hittin the place up weekly.

    (5)
  • Roger L.

The food is all authentic, cheap, and comes in big portions. There's free chips and salsa available as well. You pay up front but they'll bring the food to your table. The burritos are big enough that they can be split for two meals. I usually get two tacos: cheap and simple. For all the tacos and burritos you can choose from a variety of beef, chicken, or pork in many different styles (carne asada, pastor, lengua, carnitas, etc) and they are all priced the same.

LOS PERICOS!! This Los Pericos restaurant is the best place to go if ur craving good Mexican food. I mean GOOD Mexican food. (is not a high end restaurant so the actual place is not the best in the world, i go here for their food, no the place) I've been there for a couple of times and every time i go i have a good time. the food is just so good and at very good price if you ask for a side dish they don't charge you extra like some other places. now the Salsa bar !!MMMMmm m .. the salsa bar is just something else , they got like 10 different salsas and dude you get some chips and try them with all different salsas.. good stuff.. put this way, if you got a hang over or maybe munches then this place will be heaven.!! really is that good,, go and try it and ull see ....

I love nachos and this places rocks the nachos like nobody else. I must eat here every time I'm in San Leandro. The nachos are enormous and delicious and probably raise your cholesterol 10 points just from looking at them. Get pastor. Love it!

I love this restaurant! Quick! Quaint! Delicious! I love the Caldo de Res with fresh avocado! Carne Asada with Fried onions! YUMMMY! I trust these nice people to make my food and not get sick! And the Salsa is excellent and always at that. Great Prices too! My boyfriend always gets the chicken burrito. He has been going there for years. This is all he gets! Every week!

I've never really craved tacos, horchata, tortas, etc, but my boyfriend loves mexican food for some reason. I've been to quite a few Los Pericos restaurants, but this one is 3x's better! The restaurant is a lot smaller in comparison to the other Los Pericos next door, but it works to their benefit! They have tripa tacos (intestines) here, their food taste better, cleaner, nicer cashiers/servers, and along with the the basic sauces, they have grilled jalapenos&onions which is a PLUS for me. ALSO, complimentary tortilla chips. It's so bad to crave for tacos/burritos, but its soooo yummy!

  • David G.

I had 3 tacos Grilled Chicken, Carnitas and Pastor. They were all good but the pastor was the best. The food was really good. and ready quickly. the birds painted on the wall were a nice added touch. The people were helpful for Tacos the price seemed a little high but it was good enough to make it worth it. I like being able to take as many chips, Salsa even horchata as I desire. A good Mexico place to stop by if your in the area

The reason why I live in San Leandro. Nah just kidding. Been here more than 20 times now and they're consistent with quality every single time. The salsa bar is ridonkalously good-a lot of variety to choose from. When I'm here I either get the Enchilada Meal, Super Burrito, or a Quesadilla with Shredded Chicken or Carne Asada. Don't be afraid to order the Small Super Quesadilla-for under 5 bucks it's a pretty good serving size. For the MOST part, their horchata drink is pretty good. Occasionally it tastes a little watered down. Highly recommend.

taqueria los pericos has 2 locations in the 'dro. this one is a little closer to city hall. small intimate location. organized tables. flatscreen. fast service menu: burritos 5.50, tacos 2.15 specialiteis 9.50 (many camarones dishes). tortas, aquas... sampling: -carne asada burrito(5.50), pretty large, nicely grilled meat, flavored asada, a little gristly, pretty flavorful. -comped chips: fresh, tasted like made in shop from fresh tortillas. frijoles refritoes: -relatively cheap eats. good portion. -salsa bar with very nice flavoring. -definitely upgradeable to 5 stars. gotta check out the camarones! -parking everywhere. -no where to wait for takeouts.

Honestly, I cant belive this place isnt five stars already. There food is OUTSTANDING. I love it. Never had bad service or a bad meal. The carnitas are to die for. You get your food fast and their open late. Complementary chips and salsa bar. Lots of room, and clean. 5 stars, 5 stars, FIVE!

Best. Nachos. Ever. When I have a hankerin' for some good mexican food I head here. It's an awesome hole in the wall with quick service and great prices. The burritos are pretty awesome too. You can nom on some free chips and salsa while you wait for your order. It's just one of a couple of Los Pericos restaurants but it's by far my fave because it's never crowded. I give this place an A+!!!

Two words... Al Pastor, and no that's not a man's name. The Al Pastor burrito rocked. It's fresh, huge, and tasty. The carne asada is a close second if you don't eat pork. Their salsa bar is great, but don't go there for the ambiance. It's very Middle School Cafeteria, which is fine if you're 12.

Out of all the Los Pericos, this is my favorite place. I usually go to the Los Pericos in the Pelton Center down the street, but to me the food here tastes better and is LESS greasy than the other. Of course it is still greasy, this is mexican food c'mon now. Everytime the employees have been so incredibly nice and helpful. One day I sat by the big windows at the high table and a bee was buzzing at our table. I wish I would have gotten her name, but the lady who works there came over and killed it for us. She was so nice. I'll definitely continue coming to this Los Pericos.

This place is great! There are alot of los pericos in the area but this is by far the best one! Theyre salsa bar is great the pico de gallo is always fresh & the green salsa is amazing. I recently got a wet pastor burrito with green sauce & it was delicious! The pastor is the best meat on the menu! If you have not yet tried this los pericos nows your chance.

The wet burrito may be the best burrito in the east bay. It's enough for two people and the ingredients are perfectly marinated and put together!

Being that it was lent Friday, the family ended up ordering fish burritos and tacos. I believe it was tilapia. Overall, it was good, but I prefer not to order the burrito. The guacamole, cheese and stuff was too overwhelming for the fish. I can't really taste the fish or maybe there wasn't enough of it. Besides that great carne asada burrito, very tasty. The meat was just seasoned right. I love their different selection of sauce.

This is the place to go for the best (cheap) Mexican food in San Leandro. Most people rave about Guadalajara Taqueria which is right by my house, but I travel a bit farther to get better food. So their tacos are about $2.15 instead of like a dollar, but they are LOADED with meat! This food is fresh and tasty. I love the salsa bar and load up on the pico de gallo. the ambiance in the place is a bit non-existent, and it can be pretty loud between families, TVs and radio, but, hey! I love that! That's how we Latinos like it! Loud = Vida!

  • Nada D.

I love love love this place. I love the people, I love the juke box, I love the food. Simples as that. The carne asada super burritos are amazing, the salsa bar is to die for and the chips and think and crunchy and greasy and salty. This is where I go for bay area comfort food.

  • Emily C.

great authentic Mexican food in huge portions with fast and friendly service. my favorite is the super burrito for only $7. they're huge and pretty hard to finish by yourself in one sitting. it includes your meat of choice, salsa, guac, sour cream, rice, beans, and cheese. if you eat in the restaurant, there's an unlimited salsa bar and bowls of homemade chips. the salsa is fresh and tasty

This place is poor quality. A simple burrito. Overdone dried-up beef. 50% beans 25% rice. 10% poor quality beef. asked for extra sour cream. Got none none. No sour cream. Last 15% was a dried-up taco shell whatever Save your money. ! Go to toco anywhere! CRAP !

I was very Hungry last night and didn't know what to eat. My wife asked me if I wanted to have Mexican food? I said "OK". We went here because it was the closest place to us at the time. I ordered a Super Burrito Al Pastor (Wet). I then sat down at a table. within 5 minutes my food arrived. It was delicious. After I was done I was Full.. Could not eat any more... I will return to this place again...

If you're looking for volume, go here. If you're looking for quality, head south on E14th to Taqueria Guadalahara ( yelp.com/biz/ZjOFcuwWe7u… ). Veggie Lovers (non-vegans) - go for the Veggie Quesadilla. It's basically the Veggie Burrito with a higher Cheese to Filling ratio, but has been grilled flat. Costs the same too, but warmer and gooeyer. The $4.50 veggie burrito (photo above) gives you a lot of volume, but not a lot of flavor. Beans, sour cream, rice, hardly any cheese, and a not so tasty salsa. Go to watch some football (non-American) on your lunch break, if not for the unlimited free chips & salsa. The shrimp burrito's $8, but it's basically just the veggie burrito with shrimp.

Went here with friends after shopping at the Nike Clearance Store in San Leandro. We looked up the reviews on yelp and decided to give it a try. At first I was skeptical because the area is not the best. After walking in, I was surprised at how clean and friendly the taqueria looked. The taqueria really kept up with the themes of parrots(Taqueria Parrots) with paintings all over the walls. It was self seating with a salsa bar right in the middle. They have a few arcades to play while waiting for food. I ordered two crispy carnitas tacos for around $4.50. When they brought me my food, I was impressed with what I ordered. The taco shells were kind of small, but it was overloaded with carnitas, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce all over the plate. The carnitas was a bit over oily with oil dripping out of the shell, but it was delicious overall. My friends got the wet burritos and it was humongous! You can really taste the Al Pastor barbecue flavor within the meat. Overall good experience and I would want to come back to try other selections.

Since I live right near the place, I'll frequent iton occasian, but only order their burritos. As far as that goes, ther're pretty good, and pretty large. I'd recommend it to friends when they visit me, now and then.

  • Sergio G.

Yes this is the place to go. I've been going there for 10 years + and yes I love the tacos because they put so much meat on them. The burritos are very juicy as well.. Fresh waters and you are in and out fast!!!

  • Shawn J.

This place is decent. It's pretty close to where I live and the super burrito w/ carne asada is my usual go-to. The downside is that it is super expensive; $9 for a super burrito?!? Also, there's always a ton of flies inside for some reason....

    (3)
  • Cristian C.

Man this place is great! The food is hearty and well cooked. I had fajitas with Earlene and the portions they served were really big. You could probably order a plate, split it with someone and feel real full (great on a budget!). I'd stop here anytime I'm in the mood for a good cheap meal!

  • Nobbi L.

I went here for a late lunch yesterday. In the past I would go to the Guadalajara for my Tacos al Pastor and some ceviche. This place is a lot smaller and quieter. The ceviche was far superior, prepared just as I like it. The Pastor was more flavorful also. And the Salsa bar had a greater variety of condiments. I was quite impressed.

Okay, so let me preface this review by saying I lived i El Paso, TX for seven years and the *only* thing I ever seriously missed was the food. I'd been in the Bay Area about a year and was telling this guy how much I missed REAL horchata, chile verde, salsa bars, and mexican markets with pinatas hanging from the ceiling. This is the real deal, people - killer menudo and posole on the weekends and their is only one other place in the East Bay I know of with salsa as wonderful as theirs. Prices - great especially for the amount of food they dish out! Food quality - great...everything is always fresh and made with luv ;-) Ambiance - homey/relaxed (they have a handful of booths and novellas are frequently on the tv; it's inside of a market)

I liked the color. I love the painted birds. I was here on Friday..The Burrito was hella good. I enjoyed the beans, rice and carne asada. Hella Good. Horchata here is the bomb

This place has to be the cheapest mexican food you can get. I ordered a burrito and a drink and it came out to be super cheap. The food is about average and the service is pretty good. Every time i pass by this place there is a line. Alot of people like this place but dont take my word just try it out. They have my favorite mexican drink here which is Horchata and you can get unlimited refills on it so thats always a good thing. Food: Good Service: Good Price: Dirt Cheap 3 Stars for Los Pericos

I got a beef regular burrito. Asked for mild salsa and got no salsa instead, even after assurances that there was salsa and I saw on the ticket NO salsa. Very dry and meat not very tasty. Hard to choke down, but I was hungry. People were friendly, thus two stars. Update: and a stomach ache and diarrhea....down to one star.

I love thisplace! It's a block from my office, so I tend to go here almost on a weekly basis. I used to always get their burritos, but lately I've been ordering one chicken (grilled is better than shredded) taco and one carnita taco. There is so much meat on these that you'll be full before you finish! Their salsa bar is great and a lot of times they have soccer playing on the tv!

The first time I was taken to Los Pericos was the day after a night-long bender... The kind of bender where you wake up scared, cold, and not fully aware of where you are. Thankfully, I was well taken care of by a friend. Stumbling to the bathroom, I realized that the day was already lost. I was sick. Sick sick. I didn't get the usual 6-8 hour window before it set in. I was usually afforded and accustomed to this post-party grace period before my head felt like it was in a vice, and my stomach felt like it had ruptured in my guts- sepsis invariably setting in. Not this time. After some bathroom prayer, reconciliation with my conscience, and dry heaving, my friend and impromptu nurse suggested we go eat. I'm sure my response to the recommendation was a series of grunts, as I wasn't yet able to coherently string vowels and consonants together to make "words". I was led to a car and whisked away to "the parrot". Los Pericos. My first authentic California taqueria experience. It saved my life. Walking in, one instantly notices the AWESOME self-service salsa bar. It's huge and full of fresh pico, lime wedges, salsa verde, and pickled jalepenos, carrots, and potatoes. By this time, I was able to speak, so I ordered the carnitas super burrito and a coke. Drinkwise, they have sodas, beer, and fresh tamarind drinks- but my southern palate wasn't feeling adventurous at that point. Taking a number, we sat and waited for our food. It came quickly, and it was hot and fresh. HOLY CRAP. First bite assuaged any and all regret and remorse from the previous night's debauchery. I was baptized in brown beans. I was born again. The pork was tender and shredded in just the right size. The burrito fillin's were distributed perfectly. Every bite was rejuvenating heaven. I haven't looked back. I now live in the SL area, and this is my go-to burrito. Also to note, if you're strapped for cash, the veg. quesidilla is perfect. Los Pericos, I love you. Thank you for pulling me out of a lost weekend, and I'll see you soon. I

This place is absolutely disgusting. I am a mexican food afficionado and have been to countless taquerias over the years and this one is poor at best. After an incredibly long and foodless day I went to Los Pericos. It was in the evening (8:30-9:00ish) I waiting for my carnitas burrito for 20mins and when I got it two bites was all I could stand before I threw it away- and I was STARVING. The food was so poor that I went to get drive thru fast food (first time in the last year) and when I got through the drive through to pay I realized that I was shorted the change for my twenty and I only had a few dollars!!! The burrito cost me $17 and I only had two bites. I would NEVER again go to this weak excuse for a taqueria. If anyone is looking for good food Los Portales in Hayward on Whipple (Near Target) has the best Al Pastor tacos on earth. Their carnitas tacos are the best in the bay.

Don't be fooled by the crowds of people at Los Pericos in Pelton Center---they are clueless because the great Los Pericos is down the street! I tackled a super steak burrito taste test between these two Mexican food joints and it was the smaller LP that came out the winner--easily. The steak was cooked and seasoned nicely, and there were several choices on the salsa bar (w/chips). The staff is not the most talkative, but they have always been courteous. I've tried several of San Leandro's multitude of burrito joints, but it's this particular Los Pericos that I return to now. It has officially become my burrito shop of choice.

My go to place for tacos. I normally get lengua and carne asada. Each taco is packed with onions and cilantro and lots of meat. I like how the meats are packed with juices. It's hard to eat a taco by itself because of all the meats they give you. The drinks are very good and there are lots of spaces. If you like soccer then this will be a good place to get a drink and food and watch soccer. The staff there are friendly and keep the place very clean. The chips which are free are the best!! It's fresh and so crunchy. It's not those bagged chips- these are fresh. This is Def my go to spot for tacos! One day I will have to try their soup that is only offered on the weekend.

I don't get why anyone would come to this location given the difference in quality between this restaurant and the food at Pericos Market at E. 14th and Stokes, only a half mile away. Let me break it down for you. At Perico's Market, the meat, veggies, tortillas and all the other toppings are super fresh. Every bite tastes made-to-order and delicious. At this place, the ingredients are not that fresh at all. Even the tortillas were soggy and bland. The carne asada was rubbery. My wife was thoroughly disappointed in her veggie taco, which should be hard to do wrong if the ingredients are good. And where it costs $1.75 for a regular taco at Perico's Market, it costs $2.50 here. You're paying more for worse food! If you've had the food at Perico's Market, prepared to be disappointed if you come here. And pay extra for the pleasure.

Cmon. Any restaurant that pours liquid salsa into a trough like dispensary should not be yelp worthy. The food was nothing special. The trough or condiment section was totally in disarray with hints of guacamole mixed with the other salsa choices and veggies. I cant say that i will revisit, but i sure hope the offer a new experience after reading this unpleasant experience.

This place is no bueno. Overpriced and no flavor and not to mention you're served fatty hunks of meat. My bf ordered a carne asada burrito and was served ground beef with huge HUGE chunks of fat, he was so grossed out he threw it out after a few bites in. I ordered a chicken burrito and the chicken was super dry and I basically ate it cuz I was so hungry. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere. All these high rating users must not know authentic Mexican food.

Studying by the San Leandro library? Looking for a quick bite? Come give TLP a shot! Their super burritos are huge and filled with meat! I came here around lunchtime, there was no line but a lot of seats were taken. I like how you order first and then get a number to sit good when eating with friends so you can pay for your own meal. I got the super steak burrito with no bean and no cheese. They use american cheese, so I didn't want the cheese to overpower the meat. Total was about 9 something. It was a little bit more than I would usually pay for a burrito, but the portions are great. Will I be coming back? Only if I am studying in the area and crave mexican food. There is a burrito truck next to my house that is delicious as well for a cheaper price.

I love this place. It's sort of a hole in the wall. But they have reliably tasty food and friendly service. I like that it's easy on the wallet, too. I've been here many times and have never been disappointed. It's become my go to when I don't feel like cooking dinner. They have fresh tortilla chips and a salsa bar. I normally like to have beer woth burritos but I also recommend the horchata :)

Okay, I have to say this place is great,Free chips, good food, free salsa and fast service. The only drawback is that it is a bit expensive, I ordered a soft taco for about $2.50 I forgot the exact amount and I probably could have the same for about $1.00 at Taco Bell.overall this place serves good food at a more expensive price

This place was not great. I came here for the first time today because I saw some pretty good reviews. The Cocktel de Camaron was so plain and not good at all. The food was just not satisfying and I've definitely tried better Mexican food. I will not be coming back hopefully I'm able to find a more authentic Mexican spot with much better food.

I always get the asada quesadilla although sometimes I get a yucky feeling because it feels too greasy I can't never leave Los pericos without taking one quesadilla with me. I also love there steak nachos so good everything on the side for me they tend to just smush the pico de gallo guac and sour cream all over the plate so I prefer for it to be on the side great flavors. The chorizo tacos are to die for honestly extra limón and jalapeños on the side mm mm mm amazing! I also recommend the tostada de ceviche just ass extra limón and salt!! Still such a good restaurant.

The best shrimp burrito I've ever had!!! Ask for it extra spicy, add a corona and call it a night!!!

Tried and true. I've never had anything bad from this place. Carne asada is fresh and flavorful. I'm not a huge fan of pastor but the pastor at this place is worth trying. Their super tacos and burritos are cheap, huge, and satisfying. Their special quesadillas will make you feel like you're in heaven. Chips and salsa are on point and their horchata is perfect.

good carne asada tacos and the taco salad....I just wanted the shell by itself, so tasty!

I had a really long hard day, and though I can't really afford to eat out I decided to treat myself this time. I ordered a beef burrito with everything. The taste was really "off" I didn't like it at ALL. They put big chunks of onion in which was kind of nasty.. I like onions but not like that. I got very nauseous after eating and ended up barfing like I haven't since I was a kid. I had diarrhea as well, definitely some kind of food poisoning. I not only wasted over $9 but I got violently ill. I am NOT happy and I get ill just thinking about it. I will never return to this place. I'll stick with Guadalajara, thank you very much! The fact that there was no line and the place was not very busy should have been my first clue.

I've been lunching here regularly for about a year now. Here's a quick summary: The good: - Food is tasty and fresh - Outdoor seating - Fast service - Consistent and high quality - Reasonably priced for the quality - Salsa bar is the best! Try their tangy guacamole. - Friendly, smiling staff The bad: - Popular, so it can get crowded at lunch time. Being good has it's downside. ;) - Flow could be better. Awkward location for drinks and salsa bar.

New to the area and found my new spot. Where I'm from, the area is heavily influenced by Mexicans. Growing up with homemade, restaurant style and taco truck Mexican food. This reminds me of home. Highly recommend this place. Portions are big enough for two meals. Free chips and the salsa bar is good. Their horchata isn't the best but it is unlimited. Absolutely love this place.

The people at the register are friendly and the food is fairly delicious. But, the way you can really tell if a Mexican restaurant is good is by their rice. Their rice is GREAT! Their refried beans are also very delicious, perfectly compliments the rice. They have a great condiment bar, but some of their toppings contain vinegar, which is no good for gluten-free folks. Their Caldo de Rez is the best I've tasted in the East Bay. And their fish taco plate is declicious. However, I feel the chorizo to be a bit dry, but that's good if you like healthy. All can be cooked gluten-free with much caution. A word of caution to those with allergies to gluten, though they try, I have gotten sick a few times from this restaurant. If you are sensitive like I am, they will cook your corn tortilla on a separate pan. But, not until a few trips after did I realize that my reactions were to their tortilla chips; because they are made fresh, they are NOT gluten-free. They try, but I have still been sick even with other dishes. If you cannot risk it, don't. The restaurant itself is small and cafeteria looking; nothing appealing to the eye, but the vibe is family-like.

I love Los Pericos and this is by far the best location. The location is smaller, but not as many people here as the one two blocks down. Their food is always good. Can't go wrong with all you can eat chips and salsa.

  • Sierra P.

I LOVE this place! The food is great, and they have ceviche for less then 2$! They give you a lot too! The tacos are always perfect, and the salsa bar is heaven!! Rice and beans are sooo good. I could go on and on, haha. And one of the best parts about it is THE SALSA BAR. They have an amazing selection of salsa, which is really important to me. I eat here on my lunch break probably more times a week than I should, but its too good. Good job Pericos, good job.

Too expensive this place charged me $10 for a super Burrito. When I can go to taco truck down my house that only charge me 5$ for a super burrito and the quality is better. Trust me this place is too expensive and also this place is a Hit and Miss

MAN DOES THIS PLACE KNOW HOW TO MAKE A MEAN BURRITO! I am a Mexican foodholic... I can't get over it!! Run by nice people always a smile on their face and that's a plus for me I love great service! I always get the chile verde pork super burrito and it's bomb every single time.. First bite I really go off on a daze haha! Oh the joy... And the salsa bar with it? I absolutely cannot eat my burrito now without the marinated onions... I'm hooked! I'm addicted! I would grab a fork and eat right out of the salsa bar if I could...which we all know I can't...heh heh.... Anyways! I also get their fish taco and that's some unbelieveable goodness... Fish is not fried it's grilled! Which is amazing cause I'm use to the fried one..but man does it have flavor... With one of their salsas? You just can't lose And let's not forget about their wonderful agua frescas! Love their horchata and their jamaica.... And it's bottomless! I can disgustingly drink 4 cups in one sitting... A must try place people

Best Mexican food in the area, San Leandro. I eat at this spot a couple times a week and it's always good when I eat my top favorites: burritos, shrimp plate (a la diabla), tacos and quesadillas. The staff is always friendly and real attentive towards what you want. Prices are really good compared to other places (La Piñata/Guadalajra) which are over priced and not so authentic to me. No diss, just my opinion. Pericos even has a salsa bar with complementary chips and refills on agua frescas--horchata, Jamaica (roselle/hibiscus), tamarindo (tamarin)--that are usually limited in other restaurants. I wouldn't say all their food is good because I haven't tried it all; however, so far everything I've had has been good. Great place overall . I recommend for you, the reader, to try it.

I used to live in Dublin and just moved back to the bay. Driving through decided to come back for a burrito. I guess the cost of living has gone up in Dublin because to my surprise the burritos were $9 plus tax. I didn't mind, however I took 5 bites before I hit some carne asada. I won't come back, sorry for that type of money you should have meat in every bite. The flavor is still good.

This is the spot open late so you can get the burrito if your hungry or taco .Open salsa bar and clean. It is fast or you can hang out. Great friendly staff. I have eaten here for years and see the same faces.

I can remember the first time I ate here back at one of my first jobs out of High School. The guy who trained me brought me here when I was pretty much only a sammich, pizza, and fast food eater. It took only 1 visit for me to figure out there was some bomb ass Mexican food to eat too. I have tried most of the things on their menu but tonight I had a steak burrito. As always it exceeded my expectations even on a night as busy as Cinco De Mayo. I highly recommend this spot for authentic Mexican food. It's the shiz

We love the salsa bar! The food is delicious and big portion! It's always busy here and the ladies that work at this place are pleasant with smiles. Even though my bf and I are Asian.. We often find ourselves eating here a little TOO often!

  • Secret M.

Food is hella bomb but sometimes they don't be understanding the order & mess up. Also when i ordered a quesadilla one time, that shit looked like a giant burrito! Not sure why it doesn't look like the regular quesadillas, but its all good.

I went with my cousin on a weekday around 11am-ish before the lunch rush. By the time I filled my soda, topped salsa on my chips, and sat down at a table, they already brought the food out... VERY QUICK.. It seems like they have a lot of people working in the kitchen...a capable and efficient staff. I ordered a super burrito with al pastor. The burrito was really good and they have a salsa bar with a few different types of salsas and the pickled veggies/radishes. There's plenty of seating and it's in a location with enough parking. I also got a little nostalgic when I saw they have a Street Fighter Turbo Arcade game there. Good Taqueria!

Tried this for the first time a few nights ago. This review is only based on two items. My wife ordered a grilled chicken torta, and I had a Super Sized order of carnitas nachos. She ate half her sandwich, and then helped me finish off the nachos. She said her sandwich was tasty then, and also the next morning for leftovers. The nachos were not the best I've ever had, but they were delicious. It was a huge order!! I look forward to trying more food from their extensive menu. The prices are affordable, staff is friendly, and the service is quick.

It's all right. Nice and clean, they had a green PASS notice on the front window so, I said fuck it and gave it a try. Opted for the al pastor burrito (of course)..no rice. It was just OK. I get pissed about fatty chunks within pastor because you can't see that shit coming, considering it's drenched in red sauce. So, I had to spit some out into my napkin a few times, which was hella uncomfy because some old man with a hat kept staring at me.. and I was hoping it would gross him out but, apparently it didn't. Lucky me. (Men, stop staring at ladies when we eat, it's fuckin rude and creepy!) Their chips were good, I think if I had ordered nachos or something, I would have liked my dish better. Salsa bar was well kept too, which gave me the illusion that no gross kids stuck their slobbery lil hands in it, which is all the fake content I need to enjoy the god damned salsa and not freak out about it in my head the entire time. They had the tiniest napkins on the face of the earth at each table in the dispenser. Like, ridiculously tiny. I probably used about 700 squares of napkins through my meal. I suppose it's worth it if you're in this area and just want a Mexican feast fix..but I won't be going out of my way to rush back.

Los Pericos #5 is my favorite taqueria in San Leandro. I think it's as good as anything you can find in the Mission. Indeed, since we've moved to San Leandro, we've stopped going to San Francisco for burritos. The meat is well seasoned, there are plenty of choices and the food is cheap. Service is quick and prompt and very, very affable. My favorite are the carnitas and carne asada special quesadillas. These are the size of a burrito but contain no rice and beans - just meat, cheese, salsa/pico de gallo/guacamole. They are too big to finish in one sitting, and Los Pericos #5 has a better sized one for those looking for a quick lunch.

Came here yesterday for dinner, ordered a wet burrito with no beans. Once my food comes to the table it's a super burrito instead of a wet one, I let it slide and take a bite out of it and there's beans in this nasty burrito. Later on during the night my boyfriend wakes up and starts throwing up. I thought it was just me feeling all weird, so he beats me to the punch. I get out of bed to check on him and next thing you know I'm throwing up as well. That was probably the worst experience I've ever had with a taqueria.

WOW! Quick, authentic and good! Clean and friendly, with football (soccer for all the Americans) on the television...the kids and I love going here. But the food is a stand-out - fantastic burritos and the tacos are more food than they look and tasty, tasty, tasty, especially the fish tacos! Counter staff has a smile for you and if you go enough they remember what your favorite dishes! Service is pretty quick too. Just an all-around great place for real Mexican (my neighbor from Mexico eats here!) food.

Lucky for me this place is right around the corner. Good quality Mexican food at a very reasonable price. They have an extensive menu for how small the space is, and the pastor is as good as I've found. Thankfully I don't have to go far because I would otherwise have to go out of my way to frequent this space.

My go to Mexican taqueria. Good food, good price and quick take out service. Table service is pretty fast too. I typically get enchiladas, tacos and burritos. Parking can be very difficult in that area.

All I can say is SALSA BAR! This place is my spot. It's like a taste of home for me. Shout out on the Super Burrito! Pretty sure It's big enough for you to share ;) A+ on service and price. I will keep coming back ;)

Still so good and so delicious. There are alternative options for burritos and tacos around here but what's the point. This place has been consistently delicious since I started working in San Leandro 4 years and 4 months ago. Keep up the good work!

  • Mary T.

I had the carne asada super nachos. At first, I thought the serving was kind of small, but it ended up being the perfect amount of food. We could have used a few extra tortilla chips though. I also had the horchata, which could have been a tad thicker, but still tasty.

    (4)
  • Christina L.

I love this place!!!!! I'm a big chips and salsa girl and the chips and salsa here is amazing!!!! They fry their own tortilla chips and each chip is thick and salty and delicious. Also, its all you can eat. Each salsa in the salsa bar is really really good. Usually theres only one or two that I'd like but I love all of them! The fresh tomato one is the best though. Burrito is good too. Usually I save half a burrito to eat later cause I like cold leftover burrito but this place made it hard for me to stop eating!

Absolutely no complaints here. Its the baby location from the bigger one down the street. Both similar. This one is less crowded. Great Mexican Food, clean location. Very nice employees. Cant wait to return. Tip: deep fried shrimp is just Grand.

The only issue about this place was that they didn't give me extra chips when i asked. Well they get an A because i like their enchiladas. The rice is ok and the beans are delicious. Hell, im supporting this business for the rest of my life 5 stars for food minus 1 for customer service, It could have been better

So I've been here a few times now, and I have to say everything that I've ever ordered here was delicious. Taco Salad, Burritos with Al Pastor, Shrimp Soup - everything is really fresh and delicious. Now the latest thing i had was Shrimp Soup. Spicy - delicious, and full of vegetables and shrimp. I will be honest, i think the bowl can serve 2-4 people. IT WAS A LOT. Delicious broth but i could not finish. I would definitely recommend this taqueria if youre in the east bay in san leandro area! Yum yum

All we wanted was some Mexican food that you would find in Southern California. That is exactly what we got. The Horchata was on point, my nachos were delicious, my honey's chimichanga was ginormous and very good according to him. I will definitely go back and enjoy all of those things again.

    (5)
  • Mizz B.

This is my favorite taqueria in the East Bay! It's the closest I could find that had the same flavor as the taquerias in the Mission. Everything I've had here has always been delicious! I usually get a Super Carne Asada Burrito or the Enchiladas. I love their salsa bar.

This is my FAVORITE taqueria!!! I was first introduced by my coworkers when our office was down the street and I've been hooked ever since. I've even gotten my family addicted to the goodness we are serious Mexican food eaters now La pinata is my second choice because the have bomb happy hour margaritas lol but the customer service i get from here is very friendly I also go the the one up the street and if im at school I go to the one at southland mall I like that no matter which one you go to the staff are courteous and the food is hellllllllla good yummmm

The best local Mexican food period! The beans & rice are better than most I've had in the Bay Area. Being from LA, I haven't found a place that I love. But this place is our go-to local place for good food. The staff are always nice and the food comes out quickly!

My go to tacqueria in the dro. Food is authentic and fresh. Service is always on point and the workers are so nice. The super quesildilla is where it's at. Good selection of fresh salsas. A little more pricey than most other tacquerias but it's worth it. I would recommend this place to anybody.

We go here frequently, and next to Happy Burrito in Downtown Oakland, Pericos has some way-good burritos. The smiling man at the counter who takes your order helps improve my mood. They let you grab a bowl of warm chips, and they make fresh-squeezed carrot and orange juice. The burritos are large, and on my rare mindful days, i take home part of it. Their salsa bar is great: I like the spicy carrot slices that are mixed with radishes and sliced potatoes. Last night they even had guacamole on the bar, or something similar because it was more in a liquid form. The pico de gallo is spot on. They bring the food to your table, pronto. Even on busy Saturday nights they are efficient. The place can get noisy with kids, video games, TV and announcements of to go orders.

  • Lisa H.

My favorite taqueria hands down!! You know it's a good burrito when it can stand straight up on its own! It's huge!! I usually only eat half because I'm also filling up on the complimentary chips and salsa. The other half is great to take home for left overs! Plus pack some salsa and carrots to go. If I don't get the carne asada burrito then ill get 2 carne asada tacos. Which is equivalent to 4 taco truck size tacos. It's loaded with tons if delicious meat!! Any meat that spills out of my taco will be scooped up with chips. :) Best taqueria everrr!

This is my favorite of the los pericos restaurants, good food and not as crazy as the other one nearby. Nothing flashy, but tasty food at good prices. My 2- year old loves the rice and beans. Why shouldn't she? They're delicious! She also loves the wall mural of the fighting roosters... I usually get carnitas and the pastor pork it's tasty too. Also a great place too people watch in san leandro.

My favorite best Mex in San Leandro! These guys do it right :) Wide huge selection menu from breakfast burritoes to nachos and all. My personal fav is the breakfast chorizo platter $6 bucks, rice, beans and an omelette folded with the love in it. Other fav is the Grilled Chicken Taco Salad bowl $7 and they fill em badboys up! I had a crispy taco a la carte and it is filling, looks like a meal on it's own piled with cheese and lettuce. Lots of seating, family oriented, I always see couples in the booths around, happy atmosphere, TV up above football, big long counter top, line just flows by, fast service in & out, free chips and delicious take home salsas green and reds, fresh pico. Staff is very friendly, always greets with a smile, overall a great stop for anyone in the area that wants a good quality authentic fresh mex cant go wrong spot. Its places like this that I keep me coming back and word of mouth about.

I have been coming here for the past 10+ years. This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant! The salsa bar is amazing with a great variety. I always get the carne asada super burrito and steak ranchero. It's amazing! Portions are huge and priced nicely. Friendly neighborhood service. I love this place with all my heart and soul. =)

First few times I ate here I was in love. Then I ordered a grilled chicken burrito.... and got so damn sick I thought I was dying. Shredded chicken= a good time Grilled chicken= food poisoning. The meat was very wet, not juicy, but watery. Like it was uncooked. This place owes me for lost wages for sure!!

Absolutely love this place anytime i am nearby I must stop by, not only to pick up some groceries but also to get some good grub everything from the nachos to the tacos all the dishes are top notch service is quick, fast and friendly. portion sizes are pretty big and always filling. I highly recommend this place, there's lots of other los Pericos in Oakland but this is by far my favorite. Don't forget to pick up some fresh ceviche from the meat counter in the back, eat it with some of their chips and you will be in heaven.

This is about the best taqueria in the bay area. Definitively the best caldo I have ever had. Amazingly hearty and flavorful. Price is right too. There are actually two within two blocks of each other. Try the little one.

I think this Los Pericos moved from down the street... and I like this new cozy spot on the corner. The food at this location is just as good the other Los Pericos in the Bay Area... delicious and hearty! Big portions! My fiancee and I like to share the fajita platter and its more than enough to feed the both of us. Their salsa bar is like no other... they have fresh and chunky pico de gallo, my fav!

  • Maria C.

This is my FAVE Los Pericos to go to...it's a cozy little spot (used to be Pedro's back in the day) Food is always good and not as busy as the other restaurant down the street in Pelton Center. It also does NOT smell like pinesol at this restaurant. I will NEVER go to the one at Pelton Center simply because of the constant smell of pine-sol. It's so disgusting while you are eating!!! Love the warm tortilla chips and salsa bar...the lady who is the manager is super sweet and keeps the place very tidy. The tamarindo drink is awesome too!!! Carne Asada plate rocks!

One of my favorite Mexican taquerias. If its mexican food, we got it from here! So I thought I contribute my 2 cents. Pros: *Pastor meat (BBQ Pork) is the meat selection I constantly go back to. One of the tastiest, moistest meats on the menu, and has that slight charcoal grill aroma that makes me love it so much! *Fresh salsa bar - at least 5 different salsas, radishes, pickled carrots/jalepenos, limes *Warm tortilla chips *the pure size of the burritos - good for two meals for me. So I always make sure I ask for an extra bag of chips and double the salsa to go! Cons - Why they are 4 and not 5 stars: *$6 a burrito - pretty standard price. Not quite a steal. But then again, it does afford me two meals, so its actually a pretty good deal :) I just miss their old $5.50 price. *Carne Asada (grilled beef) on the dry and bland side - but since I've only ordered this meat twice or so, I'm not sure if I've ordered it on a bad day, because that can happen... *no black beans :( *take out dishes for salsa are TINY!! *depending on who takes your order, make sure you are very clear what you want/ dont want - We told her no salsa in the taco - she gave it to us with salsa. We told her, and they made another order, WITH salsa again.. at that point, we just thought, whatever, just go with it! tip for smaller appetitie: If the super burritos are too big for you and you dont feel like left over burrito for the 2nd go around, the super taco and a side of rice or beans with the free chips is the perfect light meal!! and its only $4.25! Overall, i love this place and the pros absolutely out weight the slight cons. YUMMMM!!!

Pros: - This place is relatively clean. - Ample seating. - open late. - Parking lot. - HUGE servings, with great authentic mexican taste. Cons: - can get crowded sometimes. PROTIP: Try the alpastor. You won't regret it. Add on a horchata to wash it down. Their horchata's are LEGIT.

My first time at this yummy place. This is Mexican a-la-carte restaurant it is very casual, since you order at the counter. Friendly service but the food is amazing... delicious!!. Try the Pollo asado super burrito sooo good. Love the shrimp cocktail too. Great value too!! plus you get unlimited chips and salsa. Located at the Pelton Plaza in San Leandro, easy parking too.

People in San Leandro know there are 2 main taquerias here. Taqueria Guadalajara, and Taqueria Los Pericos. Seems like people are torn between the two. Pretty simple really. Guadalajara gets 5 stars while Los Pericos gets 4. I truly feel the meats, tacos, and burritos are superior at Guadalajara. The only thing that Los Pericos has on the other is their awesome condiment bar. I'm the kind of guy who likes to get all different kinds of sauces and what have you, and alternate between every bite. This is key to me. I really can't believe the other place doesn't have a condiment bar. You know what? After writing this review, it really isn't as simple as I originally thought. Oh man... I'm gonna have to make a few runs this week and figure this one out.

I like horchata, I like horchata! Hey Horchata hey, hey hey! Hey Horchata! Like my Horchata song? :) Stumbled across this late night joint visited by locals (as it seems) and popped in for a quick meal of burritos, quesedilla, horchata, and chips and salsa. I normally don't eat too much of this type of cuisine, but that being said, the food here is actually pretty good and seems pretty authentic. I think they open late, and the HORCHATA is yum. Super GIANT HUGENORMOUS Burrito - for $5 this equals two meals for me. But for my hungry companion with a huge appetite, its fine for dinner. But no, if you don't eat that much, a burrito will last you quite a while... Quesdilla - this was a small and it almost made me bust at the seams... I'm serious. Huge portions. Nice juicy, tender, tasty chicken and a lot of sour cream and cheese.....holy lord... Chips and Salsa - tasty handmade (it seems) chips with neverending salsa bar! :) Horchata - see horchata song and dance please! :) For the most part, I don't think I'd be opposed to coming here again, but it wouldn't be my go-to... once in a while, this would be perfect though! :)

It's a good place to get cheap Mexican food. The food is fine but sometimes it is greasy. They prepare the food promptly... it's great that I don't have to wait long. They also have Tacos de Tripas (Tripe tacos), which the other Los Pericos does not. I also like the atmosphere... it's nice place to be with a group of friends or family.

My boyfriend really likes this place, but I wasn't so impressed. San Leandro is definately NOT the place to find good mexican food, and Los Pericos is no exception to that. I had a carnitas burrito, and it was so disgustingly greasy--grease was all over the tortilla and leaked through onto the foil. Yuck! I'd rather have a burrito from Chipotle over something from Los Pericos. Some people have mentioned taqueria Guadalajara as the other San Leandro option--I wouldn't go there either. The last time I went there I stood in line for 2 minutes before I could no longer tolerate the nasty smell (a mix between BO and rotten pig ass). I haven't gone back! If you want good mexican food you have to go out to Oakland, Alameda or San Jose! Don't waste your time in San Leandro.

Just about what you would want in a taqueria. Typicall menu with a few unusual items, good price (around $9 for a super burritto and a drink), good crunchy, salty tortilla chips and about 8 different salsa's to accompany your chips and food. I found the food to be a bit on the salty side which became more problematic as I got towards the end of my 1 lb carne asada super burritto. That first bite though, was a memorable experience.

This is my favorite taqueria! We used to go to Guadalajara, but not since we started frequenting this place. We easily eat here several times a month, and we have had multiple parties catered from here. The prices are excellent and everyone has raved about the food. My favorite item here is the shrimp ceviche. I could eat a huge bowl of this with chips. I also love the chicken fajitas, which they make with mushrooms, yummy! One thing this place is missing is pozole... so I guess I'll have to head back to Guadalajara when I'm in the mood for my pork and hominy.

This is my place to go to when I need to get my fix for Mexican food at work! Omg where have you been hiding, place is pretty legit. Cheap prices, nice people, large menu, and a salsa bar! Every meal comes with free freshly made chips and salsa! My taco salad came loaded with grilled chicken, I kind of wondered where all the salad was, but hey not complaining about that that's for sure! Yum yum in my tum tum! The guy there also told me they have one in Camden where I live around...hmm never heard about it.

I think some of the negative reviews here are for the other San Leandro location of Los Pericos, because the ONLY Los Pericos taqueria to go to is the big LP in the Pelton Shopping Plaza across from the always-poppin Baskin and Robbins. This place is great. If I lived closer to San Leandro, this place would definitely become one of my regular weeknight cheap dinner spots. As it is, I generally have to wait 'til I'm going to Hayward to visit a relative or something to get it. But anticipating a swing-by LP makes the drive out to the suburban wasteland of Southern Alameda county totally worthwhile. I LOVE their carnitas, and I'm a big carnitas fan. I mean come on, my Chinese astrological sign is the The Pig AND I'm Filipino! Those are two huge qualifications right there. And you gotta love their big bar of free condiments--4 kinds of salsa including pico de gallo (although I stay away from the shrimp-cocktail-sauce-tasting red salsa 'cuz I hate anything that remotely tastes like ketchup), pickled veggies, radishes, etc. This place is clean, fast and fairly cheap. They also have some cool video games (the ones that my boyfriend and I happen to like) and usually have soccer or Spanish telenovelas playing on the big TV on the wall. And the decor is lively and colorful. Los Pericos means 'the parrots'. Get it?

I eat here at least once a week for lunch. This place is affordable and delicious. Their fresh salsa bar is my favorite. I always get one super taco and that fills me up. It's great and huge to fill you up for the rest of the day.

This Taqueria is solidly good. The molcajete is a filling delight, and the burritos are made to order great. It's the spot to go to for never let you down comida Mexicana.

Everyone raves about this place but I find it a tad overrated. And the restaurant is LOUD with both the jukebox and tv blaring. Everytime I request no hot sauce, they put it on anyway.. grrr. I've had much better carne asada from a taco truck.

So we roll into here around 12:30, looking to feed 4 big appetites....and it worked out great. The first thing I noticed is that the place had a line out the door, and most tables were full. The 2nd thing I noticed is that the majority of the people sitting and eating, as well as in line, were Mexican/Hispanic. Don't know about y'all, but for me, that says something when the people eating are at a restaurant of the same ethnicity. The food was definitely tasty, a lot of volume for the price as well. We ended up getting, 2 super burritos, a super quesadilla, and 2 crispy tacos for a lil less than $20.

I like this place, but the hubby absolutely adores it!. He craves the carne asada tacos from here tho I 'd rather go to another joint in Alameda. I do, however, drool over the horchata. Dayam it's tasty! 'fordable +filling +free condiments +horchata ____________ = 4 stars

QUICK, INEXPENSIVE, ENDLESS CHIPS AND SALSA! The burritos are already HUGE, but if you get the SUPER BURRITO hold on to your stomach!

Taqueria Los Pericos is so much better that Taqueria Guadalajara that it needed another location just 1 block away.

Good old fashioned dependable mexican taqueria food. I've been eating here for many years now, it was recommended to me by the folks who own the carneceria on my block. Giant Burritos, killer tacos, huge salsa bar and agua fresca every day. MBM says check it out!

Salsa is amazing! My husband loves the carne asada, al pastor and carnitas in just about anything here. I am vegetarian, so the options are somewhat limited. I love getting a burritio, but just wish the cheese was melted more. The employees that work at this location are always super friendly.

Los Pericos is not a fancy place to eat but I do like the food! I usually go with my brother or dad to watch a succor game or to just have dinner. I like ordering a torta and sharing it with my brother with a drink of horchata. There is also a salsa stand! The price is not bad at all.

Good food and good prices, this is a great place to stop if you're looking for some quick Mexican food. They're usually busy, but not crowded, located near the Downtown San Leandro area. The quality of meat is great, with the taco salad being my favorite on the menu.

Fantastic. But one word isn't enough to describe this baby, folks! They always provide your dish with complementary, free nachos... although they taste so stale. Anyway, I ordered a fish taco (which was barely larger than my fist), a horchata (courtesy indirect suggestion from a previous reviewer here), and flan (I love learning new foods from Yelp). That was, separately, 2.10, 1.35, and 1.85. Including tax, the total became 5.76. I'm getting used to using more money. ;- \ I'm pretty sure this is a growing mistake. Except for the taco (made with salsa, diced onions, warm clumps of fish and piping hot chewy tortilla) the small drink and dessert seemed reasonably priced (I go thru a rapid succession of interior comparisons made in my head in snap seconds; my system is my personal way of categorizing value) The taco felt somewhat overt in cost, seeing it was barely larger than my fist. The drink, however, was extremely satisfying-- it consists of such pure, authentic, natural flavours put in it. I can say less for the flan, a cold but sweet confectionary roughly the size of my fist, sitting in caramel sauce in a plastic container. It tasted and looked as if Yours Truly hired a madman to mix up a stirred up batch of tofu and custards. The interior is very small but inviting, nevertheless.

I believe there are several Los Pericos restaurant around the area, I know for sure there's one in Dublin and multiple ones in San Leandro. THIS IS THE BEST ONE. I have been to some of the other locations and did not have bad food or bad service, but it just wasn't as good as this location. The staff is always super friendly and the food is always prepared quickly. They're even open later than most restaurants in the area. There is a large selection of things to order, and a great selection of meat choices. Their meat is so delicious, and the ingredients are always fresh. There's also a pretty good selection of salsas, and anything you order comes with free chips. I am a huge fan of their tacos, they're well priced and taste delicious.Try the fish or shrimp tacos- delicious! Just be careful because the spiciness of their salsas tends to change frequently! Let them know if you want your food less spicy.

I eat here all the time. I think it's because they put crack in the food, and grease, grease and more grease. Cholesterol on a plate. Everything is cooked in lard and smothered with cheese (okay, not EVERYTHING). Total comfort food - the kind my Mom would make if she could cook...and if she were mexican. P.S. vegetarian boyfriend gets the cheese enchiladas all the time and just makes sure to get whole beans instead of refried.

Love this place!! So they are fast and have good food, the people here are very friendly and fast before we could eat our chips the food came out i love the fact that they let us pick our Chile's so we can get as much as we wanted, And they have unsweetened ice tea which i love not to many places have it so when they do I'm one happy customer. Oh and the price isn't bad they don't charge you a lot i believe we spent $30 for 6 items not bad at all. You have to go up front and order you food but they bring you food to you.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
